The Pleasure of Driving a 2020 Polaris Slingshot
The Polaris Slingshot has been about attracting riders to a unique form of transportation for the past six years. It is not really a car but definitely not a motorcycle, so what exactly is it? According to Polaris, it is a three-wheeled autocycle. Regardless of what you call it, the new 2020 Polaris Slingshot is here in Daytona Beach and ready to be driven. The autocycle has big ambition and a very clear mission: to give you the most fun driving experience of your life!
If you love the concept of the 2020 Polaris Slingshot but are a little hesitant to pull the trigger in buying one, it’s completely understandable. After all, you’ve never driven anything like this before. Will you like it? Will you feel safe? Will it be as fun as it looks? You can answer all of these questions and more by renting one before you buy it! For those in the Daytona Beach area, your Polaris Slingshot rental place is Dream Rentals. We have several 2020 models available to rent, in the R and SL trims. The most difficult part will be deciding which color to drive! Do you want red or black?
There’s several new features on the 2020 models. It still features two wheels in front and one wheel in the rear and an open cockpit with side-by-side bucket seating for two. There are no doors or side windows, just a 7.5-inch tall windscreen. A new front end with a more assertive look, front accent lighting and LED headlights and taillights, new wheel designs, and bold color choices are all exciting upgrades for the year.
The Slingshot’s interior has been revamped for the 2020 model year as well. There are significantly upgrading materials, plus new finishes and a better build quality. There’s been great attention paid to touchpoints, which refers to the places where your body has to come into contact with the vehicle. The switchgear is better and more precise according to reviews. LED interior lighting is a welcome addition as well. Keyless ignition is standard, so you simply hop in, press Start, and go!
Speaking of “Go!” there’s something really new and exciting under the hood. It gets an all-new engine, a naturally aspirated (non-turbo) 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder multiport injected gasoline engine that is tuned to produce 180 hp/120 lb-ft of torque in SL models and 203 hp/144 lb-ft of torque in R models.
Even though over 30,000 models have been sold since its launch in 2015, this three-wheeler is still going to catch people’s attention when you drive by. You can rent a Polaris Slingshot in Daytona Beach for the hour, day, or entire weekend. Once you’ve driven it sufficiently, you can make an informed decision as to whether you want to purchase your own or not. You’ll love to drive it, so the real question will be whether you should own one or rent one for the weekend every once in a while. The choice is yours!
